For Future Participants

To our potential participants

We felt it important to talk with you directly. This is an invitation to connect with us over chat, call, or video call.

Free Spirit is like nothing you have ever experienced: We truly believe in Challenge by Choice and want you to choose to spend some time with us! Most of the participants who come are surprised by the nature and “feel” of Free Spirit—the amount of freedom and respect you receive, the opportunities to do the things you want to do, and the resulting courage you’ll find to try new things and push your own comfort zone further than you thought possible. This is one decision you will not regret!

Free Spirit is a co-ed program with separate rooms for boys, girls, and non-binary attendees. Our rooms are comfortable, albeit pretty basic. Each room has its own bathroom and shower, and you may share your room with one or two other participants.

Who are we looking for? Our program is geared toward adolescents and young adults ages 15-23 from all around the world who are experiencing some challenges. You will get the most out of our program if you yourself are interested and willing to come to Cyprus for an exceptional experience with the added benefit of personal growth. You are a good fit if:

·  You are feeling frustrated with adults or peers in your environment, and they too, are frustrated with you.

·  You are at a loss with social interactions and can’t seem to figure out how to conduct yourself in a manner that is positive and allows you to achieve your goals.

·  You feel depressed, anxious, maybe hopeless about life, school, your family or your social situation.

·  You feel anxious in some or many situations to the extent that it interferes with life.

·  You are not sure what went wrong but people around you keep telling you something is wrong and you want to figure out what it is.

·  Your school has “had it” with you and you feel like you have to do better, but you’re not sure how.

We would love to have you with us even if you are just looking for some progress but are not sure whether the difficulties you are experiencing are that serious.

Let’s connect (no pressure!)

Day to Day

We take many day trips and longer camping expeditions. When we are on campus, the days are busy! Every other day, you will be up at 7 AM to do farm chores. At 8:30 AM, you will make your own breakfast and then we'll tackle an independent project. At 11, the participant cooks will begin to prepare lunch. We all sit down to lunch all together, clean together, and then discuss the day so far. Afterwards there is free time to swim, exercise, read, or hang out until group actvity at 4 PM. Then at 5:30 PM, participants in charge of making dinner begin to prep and cook. We all eat and clean together, and end the day with a group discussion.
